: '71 Malibu for SS (gauges) Dash Swap SS_Sean Nov 7th, 99, 8:46 AM The SS gauge cluster was an option for the Malibu in 1971-72. Here is the question: Is the swap from the Malibu dash (large rectangular speedo with idiot lights) to the SS style (gauge cluster or pods) dash a direct pull-and-plug? Are there any special modifications that have to happen to make the conversion? Any suggestions / knowledge would help! JSL Nov 7th, 99, 4:43 PM You need to change the entire dash , which includes the dash itself, the instrument cluster and the dash harness, which includes the fuse box. You also have to change the temp. sender it is different for gages..Other than that, it all just bolts in and plugs in. Good luck.
