: Which Mirror is Correct?
Luis Feb 12th, 10, 12:06 PM I have two mirrors and not sure which one is correct for my 1970. Is it the concave one or dimple one?
The concave one has 4 AX 9. April of 69, don't know about the AX. Rather have it restore than buy a repo one.
smoke' em II Feb 12th, 10, 2:12 PM Luis, the second one is correct for '70.
What is the date on the second one?
shadowgray396 Feb 12th, 10, 2:31 PM I agree the one on the right
Luis Feb 12th, 10, 2:43 PM Thanks for the reply, guys. I was afraid I had sent the wrong one to get restored, but I didn't. As for the date I can't remember. How about the "AX" I usually see "DMI". I sent it to the lady in PA. Let's wait and see how it comes out.

Luis, do you know the cost of the restoration?
Are they going to re-silver the glass mirror and re-chrome metal housing?
I would like to get my date coded original back on and ditch the repro currently on my car!:D

smoke' em II Feb 13th, 10, 12:33 PM Luis, thanks for the info, I am now in contact with her.
Can you please post a photo of your restored mirror onced you receive it and your feelings about the service.
smoke' em II May 6th, 10, 10:05 AM Luis, the mirror looks awsome!!!
How did the mirror glass date code come out???
After talking with you about this, I called her and she stated that they would have too break the glass to remove. She also stated that onced the mirror housing came back from the chrome plating shop, they would etch the date code onto the new mirror glass.
Anyone can see the difference between the mirror sent out for resto and the mirror restored?
RixLS6 May 9th, 10, 7:31 AM It looks like the rechromed mirror is missing the raised center seam on the base.
How does the glass look far as a date code?
Rick, you are correct. In other words the mirror lost its originality. Worksmanship and chrome are excellent, but without the rib is just another mirror.
