These are numbers I recieved after a 2 wheel alignment... on my ahem... 2004 Ford Ranger 4X4... sorry for the deception, but I need advice and everyone else on the net seems lame, so I thought I'd ask the best. I really appreciate it and I make this submission with my head bowed... I have no clue what any of these mean! I tried typing them off the tech. sheet the best I could, but TC took out the spaces for the columns:

* means degrees, and ** means numbers circled on the sheet that were a problem.

Left Front:

Actual Before Specified Range
-1.0* -1.0* -1.2* 0.2* Camber
2.2* 2.2* 1.9* 3.9* Caster
0.04* -0.35** -0.07* 0.19* Toe
-0.1* -0.1 ------ ----- SAI
-1.1 -1.1 ------ ----- Included Angle

Right Front:

Actual Before Specified Range
-0.3* -0.4* -1.2* 0.2* Camber
3.3* 3.3* 2.6* 4.6* Caster
0.03* -0.44** -0.07* 0.19* Toe
-0.0* -0.0 ------ ----- SAI
-0.4 -0.4 ------ ----- Included Angle

Front:

Actual Before Specified Range
-0.7* -0.6* -0.7* 0.7* Cross Camber
-1.2* -1.2* -1.4* 0.0* Cross Caster
0.07* 0.09* -0.13* 0.37* Total Toe

Now it gets interesting:

Left Rear:

Actual Before Specified Range
-0.3* -0.3* ------ ----- Camber
-0.58** 0.59* ----- ----- Toe

Right Rear:

Actual Before Specified Range
-0.3* -0.3* ------ ----- Camber
-0.56** 0.56* ----- ----- Toe

Rear:

Actual Before Specified Range
0.02* 0.03* ------ ----- Total Toe
0.57** 0.57* ----- ----- Thrust Angle

The front end was aligned, but my main concern is the rear axle. They didn't do anything to correct it and the tech said to "keep an eye on it for a few thousand miles" (whatever that means...). He said it was out of whack a bit and may pull to the left, but should be fine. That scares me because they probably base the front numbers off the rear. It drove good on the way home, and seems ok to me so far. Any opinions on those numbers, like: "Get that axle shimmed ASAP!" or: "It'll probably be fine."? Or how about a "Ditch the F*rd"...LOL? Again, I really appreciate it!!

You are dog tracking. Total rear-end is toe is fine but the whole is shifted.

Easy fix, loosen all the axle to leaf mounts and push the left side forward while pulling the right side toward the rear. Then lock all the bolts real tight and have it rechecked. It is way easier to do on the rack when you can actually watch the numbers.

Sounds like your alignment tech is more like a screen reader, the newer alignment guys don't know how to align cars. They just follow the animated instructions on the screen telling them what to adjust. Works OK until something that really needs an alignment comes in.

You are coorect that front alignment is typically based off rear readings....when having a 4-wheel or thrust angle alignment done, and since most guys just do what the machine tells them they would have no reason the change it's settings to 2-wheel only mode.

Pssst, I see they also left you with 3/4* cross camber...nice guys. I guess if drives OK and isn't wering the inside tread don't worry about it. Those damn Fords need the ball joint shims and the labor usually isn't cheap or included in a regular alignment.
