My friend and I were trying to bleed my power disc brakes that I installed today(Caprice spindle disc swap with Camaro master and calipers). We bench bled the master first, but when we tried to bleed the rest of the system, it didn't look like fluid was making it out of the proportioning valve to everything else. My friend said the rod might not be long enough, or some seals could be torn inside the master cylinder. It did push some air through, but no fluid. Any ideas on what we could be missing?

I would pump the brakes and open the lines at the master to see if there is any pressure,if there is a rod problem you will have no pressure on both lines,if a seal is the problem you will have pressure on one line and not the other. MIKE

Paul, since I couldn't get any fluid out of the master's lines, the problem has to be the master itself or the combination of the rod length with the power booster.

We need to get a master cylinder bleed kit with clear tubing. That way we can visually confirm there is fluid flow from the master. HEck if we disasemble the master & booster to confirm the rod length we can at least ID what you have.

It's not rocket science, but with thee combination of parts from different years it's not surprising.

Remember when you THOUGHT this would only take a weekend or two?

We'll get it.
