I've been a pretty good boy this year and I think Santa is going to grant me my wish for a new set of Moser axles. I'm going to install 1/2" screw in studs. I realized that these 1/2" studs ain't gonna fit through a 7/16" hole in the brake drum. DO you just put the drums on a drill press and take a 1/2" and enlarge the hole or take them to a machine shop and have it done?

Thanks!

David

Drill press is fine. The drum is centered by the hub on the axle so precision machining of the stud holes isn't necessary.

I just hogged 'em out with a hand drill. smile.gif

You'd get nicer results with a mill. Centering a hole while enlarging it with a drill bit don't always go hand on hand.

It should cost you less than $40 to do it this way.
