Hi, is anyone using the C5 brake conversion with 17" torque thrust II's? I am thinking about it but worried that the calipers won't clear the face of the wheel.

Thanks!

Bump to see if anyone is running this combo. The C5's make me drool but I want to use TTII's so I maybe stuck with the 12" 1LE rotor. Thanks!

MrAbody,
I do believe you were the one who e-mailed me earlier this week with the same question. But you may not.

Your assumptions are correct about having to worry about spoke interference with the C5 setup as opposed to wheel diameter/caliper clearance. The interference comes from the fact that the C5 rotor hat height is not as great as the C4 rotor is. Thus the C5 caliper is pushed further out in the setup and wheel clearance becomes an issue if the proper wheels are not selected first for the swap.

There is a fellow that has order my tall spindle C5 brackets (I see on your website you currently are running the tall spindle 1LE setup) that will try using the TTII wheels, but it will be at least another week before the CNC shop has all the brackets I ordered shipped out to me and then I have to forward them on to the people who were in on the first batch. So, it will be awhile before I know what the outcome of his clearances will be. It could be he has no problems and it could be that there are clearance issues. We'll just have to wait and see.

I need to come up with a template to download that can be cut out with the "profile" of the face of the swap to allow people to check for clearance issues with their wheels. If I could get away from playing with motorcycles all day (read: my job has me busy) I could promise a timeline to have this, but I can't :(

If you have questions about the swap, please e-mail me and I'll be happy to try and answer them!
