Among other sheetmetal required for my '69, I bought both front fenders as repro. in April '08. My shop got to the point where they were attempting to install them. After a few hours of wasted time they told me they would rather repair the originals than use the repro's. Evidently it would take some metal building on the edge that meets the door to get the contour correct.

These were the best available by the aftermarket from prominent sponsors here. Anyone else have this problem?

I have repro fenders and line up good to the repro door but not to good to the original door. I made it work after a couple days of tweeking them . They were golden leigon brand .

I just made this same comment about having to add to the driver's fender at the top edge where it meets the door(original door) Friday! I bought them from Ground Up this summer along with other metal parts. The right and left 1/4s were not alike either. This I understand is "PAR FOR THE CORSE" for aftermarket metal. :yes:
