I have a couple of questions concerning a circle track car that I will be running. the car is a 84 buick regal w/power brakes. what I am trying to do, I would like to convert the car to a manual brake car. they do sell kits to do this but at over $150.00, I think that is about much. questions I have are: anyone ever do this? what do I need to do to change this? master cylinder? prop. valve? brake pedal rod? what else? what do you think? any help would be greatly appreciated.
thank you for your help

Going from power brakes to manual really isn't that bad, but I'm not familiar with that type of car. I have converted both my Chevelle and Nova to manual brakes and really like them. You have to remove the booster obviously, then you just need to figure out how to get the brake pedal pushrod thing figured out. If the car is factory disk/drums, then I'd suggest to check out a MC from a '77 Malibu with 6 cyl, manual brakes. I believe the part number is 1639 in the Raybestos numbering scheme. this MC comes with a pushrod attached and might be able to be made to work for you. The other stuff like prop valve and such don't change, so that's good!

Good luck,
Bill C.

No problem... ain't technology great!

Just wish someone had already done that before I tried it!! Then maybe I would not have this shelf full of barely used parts in my garage!!

Oh well, that's half the fun right?!
