Hi, everyone! Long time lurker here. I appreciate everyone's postings; it's been a big help during my "project".

And now, I have a few questions...

I'm currently restoring a 1965 Malibu SS convertible (327/auto/12 bolt, no a/c, front disc), and I would like to improve the suspension. Unfortunately, money is an object, so I'm here to solicit informed advice from those who have tread before me.

Currently, I'm thinking of purchasing some quality lower springs (1"? 1.5"?), shocks, front/rear sway bars, and rear arms.

My vehicle originally came with a 300hp engine, but will be rebuilt to around 350hp. I plan on keeping the powerglide.

Since I'm looking to build more of a stock cruiser than a racer (and enjoy a lowered stance-looking vehicle) I feel these minor suspension mods should be sufficient. From the experience of everyone here (and especially those who own the nicest looking Malibu SS; the 1965), is there anything else I should give some serious thought too?

What worked? What didn't work? What do you know now that you wish you knew then?

And what about specific brands? Posts from anyone with real-life advice as to who to buy/who to avoid would be equally appreciated.

Again, thanks for all the helpful posts on this thread! smile.gif

Rusty, I would just buy stock replacement springs and chop one coil off, maybe 1.5. We did this on my cousins 65SS 327/glide and it didn't lower it as much as we might have liked, but it gave it a nice stance. We have 17" wheels on it and it looks great and rides great. YOu can see it under current projects, under the 65ss
