Iam changing power steering gear boxes on my son's 67 chevelle. The steering gear box that Iam going to put on has a different pitman arm, can they be switched without a problem? The gear boxes are the same otherwise. thanks Slime

Slime, if it's another 66/67 box it will be OK. Some later years have a differant size pitman arm and/or a differant size tapered hole for the connecting link. Rick...

I'll back up Rick on that one. We have a '67 and put a power '72 box in it and had to have the hole enlarged to fit the stud. Otherwise, no problem.

You say you are changing power steering boxes,if you are changing power for power the pitman arm will fit.If not, the manual pitman arm will not fit a power box...FRED

Thanks for the help guys. The reason I changed the pitman arm was it was a hair longer than the old one. For waht reason I don't have a clue. thanks again.. Slime
