I have a '65 Chevelle and I am putting the front suspension back together - what is the torque for the bolts that go through the upper A-arm into the cross shaft?

Are you refferring to the bolts that hold the cross shaft to the frame? nuts towards the engine?
Get em good & tight(about 55 ftlbs) remember shims will probably be added in there to set camber, when its alignment time.
A Arm bushing nuts (on either end of A arm) are torqued to about 40 ftlbs once weight is on wheels.

Just checkd my manual so those numbers are correct for a 68-72 early cars should be the same
