Rather than replace my worn out manual steering box I'm going for the power steering conversion. I've located a complete doner set up from a 67 chevelle 327 SB. Will this be a bolt on conversion to my 67 chevelle with a 72 LT-1 350?

Yeah, the box will bolt up, but you'll need a pitman arm off of a 1968-1972 GM A-body with power steering. As for the brackets for the pump/resovior to the engine, depending on whether or not you have a long or short water pump, they may or may not work. Other than that it's a bolt-in.

I'm missing something... if he's putting a '67 gearbox into a '67 chassis, why does he need a '68-'72 Pitman arm? It's only the engine that's a '72, so only the pump would be affected by that... right?

Wow, thanks ... no he won't need a 68-72 power steering pitman, nice catch Reid, thanks! He will however need a power steering pitman arm from a 1964-1967 GM A-body if that new box doesn't already have one. As for the pump, I'm having a little trouble thinking how they mounted in 1967 versus 1972 I really can't remember, but I'm sure another member will chime in on that front.

Thanks for the catch
