I'm working on my recently aquired chevelle, 1970. Had a bunch done to the engine and brakes so far. What's bothering right now is the tendency for the front end to "lift" when hit the gas. Especially on the drivers side. I would like the ride to stay somewhat level when i take off. Where do i start with the suspension? Thanks in advance...

btw, this car was original 307 and now holds a 350, so i'm sure the front springs are small block.also the last owner put air shocks in the back.

Stiff shocks, short but stiff springs front and rear. Try the shocks first.

You may want to play with rear suspension geometry, too. If it was me, I'd lose the air shocks, and use springs to carry the load.

Drag racers use tall and soft springs, and shocks that are sloppy when extending, up front. This helps to promote front end lift. Helps with weight transfer/traction, I guess.

THANKS, I WILL BE DUMPING THE AIR SHOCKS AND CHANGING TO NEW AFTERMARKET COILS, I HOPE THIS HELPS. I also want a little lower ride heighth. I'll cross my fingers that 1-2" shorter springs is all i need to remedy this...
