I hope someone else will chime in but I have never seen them welded.

Yes, but they weren't exclusive to the F41. My 70 small block convertible had them. There was a post on this subject recently and others repied that their non SS cars had them.

This is an interesting question. I was about to buy the rear crossmember frame braces for my 70, just a day or 2 ago. I had a line on them from Deon Knecht (who is 72SS454Chevelle...or something close to that). He said that he bought them only to find out that his car already had them. (Give him a holler, btw, if you are looking for a set relatively cheap)

Lo and behold, I crawled under mine...and there they were. My father bought the '70 brand new and it was a factory 350/250hp 2-barrel Malibu. No F41 suspension or anything else for that matter.

Didn't know they were welded. Thought they were just bolted on. :confused:

Nobody said they were exclusive to F41, the question is if they came with F41, which they do. I frequently get them off non F41 70-72 monte carlos, very rarely do they not have them. If you find a monte with a 12 bolt rear it will also have the F41 reinforced upper left control arm too. The braces are not welded in, they are bolted in at the upper control arm mounting bolt and the lower control arm mount, which IS welded to the frame.
