I recently purchased a BW Super T-10 for the 454 we are putting in our 70 Chevelle with a console. This is a conversion from an automatic to a 4-speed. I contacted Hurst and they said they do not have a competition plus shifter to work with the Super T-10 because what they have would required a change in the floor opening and would probably not work with the console. They recommended a street super shifter. I have read that the comp plus shifter is what I want. Any ideas as the best option. I figure I can 1) find a Muncie M20, 2)Install the street super shifter, 3)not install the console?
Thanks,
Tom

Our '72 Lemans Sport had the Muncie M20 and factory Hurst shifter. It was a straight across switch going to a Super T10. I had to slightly bend one of the shift rods for clearance. I forget whether I used the Muncie shift arms on the T10 or the T10 arms. I think there was a difference in the length of the slots. With the right shifter handle shape, I can't see the Chevelle swap being much different. Back in the day, I put a Competition Plus in our '69. It is a bench seat car and I had to notch the left side of the shifter hole just a little for clearance, so even the right application needed a little work.

Do a search using key words "ST-10" and "Hurst"... I've posted on this toooooo many times... All you need is a different 1-2 shift rod... Crash

I swapped a ST10 into my '69 camaro and used almost all of the "stock" Hurst shifter and install kit for a Muncie (shifter, rods, arms, etc.). In my case I did have to modify the shifter mounting plate to get the shifter to fit in my console correctly and I think I had to tweak the shifter rods a bit for clearance (it's been a while...)
First search for crash's previous advice like he suggests, but I'd start with a Muncie shifter/kit for a '70 Chevelle and tweak as necessary. Should be really close. Heck , you probably will only need like a different 1-2 shift rod :)
Crash,
Thank you. I found the information. I appreciate the Hurst part number references.
