what are you guys running for wheel studs? I heard that if I am even going to do a little drag action I should use aftermarket wheel studs. I might onlt go to a drag strip a couple times the rest of the time will be driving around town. I thought about buying different studs but I can't find any that are the stock length. i am just trying to decide if I should buy new studs since I have the axles out right now

You can tap the holes for 1/2X20 and use socket head cap screws. I run 2"long, they work good at .80/ea

I got mine a local hardware store. They are just plain old black cap screws. Orchard Supply had them, they stopped carrying the fully threaded ones so last time i had to go to a specialty bolt store-only 30 min away. Price was the same. The key is to make sure they come fully threaded-you cannot cut these with a die as they are grade 12, you will just tear up dies.

What lug nuts? Do you use open ended conical ones? I'm wondering about the length of them also to ensure good thread contact.

Actually I use old Jeep lug nutsd with the chrome caps on the ends-then pop the caps off and turn them into open ended jugs. Most Jeeps and Dodge trucks from the last decade or so use 1/2X20 studs-wrecking yards have tons of these old lugs around. Most of the lug nuts already have had the caps fall off anyways. Look close at the pic and you can see I have them threaded on the studs. If you go to my link and click page 2 you can see a larger veiw of the same pic http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/10/web/478000-478999/478862_33.jpg
