Using 79-81 Camaro rear discs what common rear soft line can I use? I have tried getting them for a Camaro and TA but no use they keep sending the intermediate hose. Not the outer soft hose. I tried a Caddy Fleetwood no luck. What else works or maybe I should go to Napa?

The problem you will run into in looking for a hose is that there is no hose! GM did not put a rubber line on those cars from the factory, the hard lines went into the calipers directly. When I did my rear disks, I wanted a little more play do I could easily remove the calipers if I wanted, so I added some short rubber lines. I may have the part number at home, but no promises! I just went thru the parts book and found a line that was either 8" or 10" and had the correct ends. One line had to wrap around the axle if I remember correctly...

I don't quite understand that. Aren't those calipers floating single piston units? If they are, they would need hoses to be able to float or else they'd be flexing the hard lines.

If they have the typical banjo bolt connection take a look at new S-10 rear brake hoses. They're about a foot long.

They have a bajo fitting of sorts. Looks like a hard line went into the side of it. I was thinking about trying some front lines to see if they might work.

The S 10 is a good idea. I may have to go from metric to standard but that may no be too bad.

I guess I could run hard lines but they may crack or?

yes, I have rear discs, they are '95 Z28 discs, and they bolted right up to my 10-bolt! They are a 'floating' style caliper and I ordered the custom lines from the website I mentioned above. Basically I had to custom make the rear axle lines, and I used the brackets supplied with the new hoses (welded them to the axle). I think the custom line kit cost me $99. I did re-use the little prop. block that attaches to the top of the pumpkin, and I bought a new rear hose that goes from the frame to the pumpkin. Installing the hoses took twice as much work as the brakes themselves!
