could someone give me an idea of what that might entail?i've seen the wheel and column sitting on the seat while a guy replaced some burned out dash bulbs on my 68 ss.is it in the book somewhere?thanks for any help on this,as always.

Drop the cover under the column, disconnect the shift indicator, remove the 2 nuts from the studs, the column will fall right down.

Nope, fairly easy just spend time lining up the shift indicator.
