I had edelbrock rear upper conntrol arms installed and I noticed after about a month on the driver side where the control arm bolts into the differential has the bushing just hanging around the control arm and is no longer in place?? Anyone have this happen? Also what should the fix be? Thanks for any help.

It is a 8.2 ten bolt. PN EDL-5249 Not sure if it is the original rear for the car but it is a 66 rearend according to the numbers.

You have both set to the same length?

I had them done at a shop. The owner did them and he has been drag racing and a mechanic for many years. I will look but I am very confident in him.

If you can,post a pic.
Think I'd be talking to the installer & Edelbrock with just a month's use on them.

Take a tape measure with you and get a quick measurement of the length of both uppers -your going to be under it anyway.

Unless you are into serious racing, it is hard to beat the stock bushing setup. Most of these old cars only get driven a couple of thousand miles a year. At that rate, the bushings will outlast us. I've used stock and polyurethane. For me, the stock setup works just fine.

Here is a picture. (hopefully it shows up) I do race it 4-5 times a summer.

It is not actually the busing from the ear of the differential but rather the bushing that was between the ear and control arm. Sorry for my poor explanation.

Can't really tell from the pic just how it's put together and how/what holds that to the bushing.
Think I'd still see what the installer has to say about it.

That looks like the extra piece that goes over the end of the poly bushing. I really do not know what those little donuts are for. You should be able to move it back into position without disassembling anything. With stock arms it can not fall off.

I have the same arms on my El Camino with no problems at all and it is a daily driver.

Phillip is right. those Poly bushings have an extra piece... like the piece you have pictured that just slip over the inside end of the bushing. You should be able to just maneuver it right back on without touching any bolts.

Thanks, for the suggestions and help. I will try to see if I can get it slid back over nex weekend.

Phillip I see you are from Marana. I lived in Arizona until I was 13. I remember watching my brother play against Marana in football. he went to school in Kearny. Ray High School. That was long ago though. We lived in Dudleyville.

Thanks again guys.
