Bought a wheel from a group member but unsure of what it is from. Seems for a 64/65 from something or other. Any ideas on how to research this?

I have the original 1964 through 1975 Chevelle / Camaro / Chevy ii parts books, and that # is not in any of them. I also have the 1938-1966 Impala / Truck / Vette parts book, and its' not in there either; and some of the #'s in there are higher than your #. So maybe your wheel is for a 1965 or earlier Buick, Olds or Pontiac ??

I've checked and can't find any other model that has this type of steering wheel. The look is distinctly chevelle of either 64 or 65. Maybe those reference books just don't list all the numbers of the wheels produced?

That does look like a 64-65, but you won't know for sure unless you put a 64-5 horn ring on it and see it it fits.

That's probably the casting no. and not the part number. Part numbers varied by color, but I suspect there was only one casting number for each steering wheel applciation. I thought you were listing the part number. sorry for the confusion!

Oh, cast and part number are different. I guess it doesn't show the part number, only the casting on the part because it can be painted any color. Yes, a 65/4 horn ring fits on it. So I guess if it quacks like a...

Any other guesses yet? I have the same number, different color . . . the red one. And since we are guessing about steering wheels - any advice on the blue one? Can't find any numbers at all.

I believe Jeff, that it's a casting number and is correct for a 64/5. Your blue one looks like an Impala wheel.
