I just installed a tranny cooler for my powerglide. Do I need to bleed the air out before starting up, and shifting into gear?

I have installed a ton of coolers and really never had any issues with a bleed. I typically put the car on jack stands and go through the gears is about it.

Ok thanks, why do you put it on jack stands? Is it ok to just drive it around instead?

I hope you flushed out that cooler before installing it. the manufactures say that if you don't, it's a good way to ruin the converter or even the transmission.

No, I never heard that before. What kind of residue is in there? Kind of odd the manufacture would not have flushed any foreign matter out before shipping it out for sale. Are you pulling my leg?

Are you pulling my leg?Nope, not pulling your leg Jay. I believe that's what they suggest, due to possible pieces of solder, and metal chips left in the cooler. This is one of the products available for that, but if you've already run the trans with the cooler installed, then I guess this no longer needs to be a concern for you.....
