ok....so I got home from work today and went to start my 66 chevelle and the starter started shooting sparks out of it....

any reason this would happen? It was very random and i did not have a chance to crawl under it and take a look at it...

guess i know what I will be doing this weekend...

Maybe a loose wire grounding or something touching the starter..........Course i recall once sitting on the toilet and seeing those very same sparks.....discovered it was the chili my wife fixed the night before..........ya never know..............................:D

Starter brushes may be worn out.

look for bad connection at solenoid big post and make sure battery cable isn't touching exhaust or rubbing thru somewhere.
