I went to pick up the control arms today from the suspension shop. They are unable to press a balljoint in the left side lower arm. The ear where the balljoint goes is bent up and there is a crack. I need a new control arm. Does anyone make a reproduction factory lower control arm?? I have been unable to find one. Anyone have a good used one from a parts car if I can't find new??

Our beloved sponsor Ground Up sells reproduction control arms. Check them out.

Yeah I missed it when I looked on the site. Don't ask me how, being it's on the front page. graemlins/clonk.gif
Check the classifieds on this site for used arms. Now I wouldn't pay more than $20 for original arms that need bushings and ball joints.
Price climbs if someone has done the dirty work for ya.

I found one locally this afternoon. It is free as long as I remove it. He has an extra frame out back. I already have the bushings and balljoints I was going to have installed on the bent arm. I blasted and painted the damaged one without noticing it was bad. Felt like a fool when I went to pick it up from the suspension shop.
Now the question is how did it get bent. The car was a drag car through the early 70's so I am guessing that is when it happened. It sat for 20 years until it was partially restored in the mid 90's. It was rarely driven after that.

Be glad you found the damage BEFORE you started driving it! You'd have felt really foolish if you wrecked you beloved car. Good score on an affordable lower arm. Have fun!!
