Do you all know of anyone who does image renderings of cars? like a computer generated style image, not just sketches although that would suffice, i have a few interesting, different ideas for my 66 malibu and would like to see it on paper first, i do not possess the skill to lay it out my self, i have talked to 1 guy from here before, Otis i think is his name, and i am not knocking anyone, i have seen his work and he is good, but so far after talking to him a couple times and sending several sample pics to him i have waited almost 2 months to get an answer on price, or if he wanted to do it. i understand people are busy. so i am just wanting some kind of images before i order paint and do body work, that sort of thing. any help is appreciated . thanks.

Hi Erick,

One of my hobbies is 3D art and animation. I could do some work for you, depending on how involved your ideas are. If it's really simple, like colors and rims I could use Photoshop to work up some examples of your ideas. If it involves major work where I'd need to build a full blown 3D model I'd have to charge you. There's also the possibility your needs are above my skill level, won't know until I know what you need.

Click below to see a McLaren F1 model I built and rendered. Either PM or reply with your ideas and I'll quote you a price and time-frame, and if I can do it at all.

I go low-tech... find a picture of white Chevelle, print it out, and go to town with colored pencils. :) That will at least get you started anyway.

but... but... i never learned how to color inside the lines... haha been there man, color isn't all, wanna lower it, 18" wheels, hood, satin black trim, odds and ends, plus colored pencils can only get so close to the color i want

My 3D program of choice is Lightwave 3D. Very capable, and very affordable compared to the other "industry standard" packages.

Hoping to revive this thread a bit...

Does anyone know of a software package for very basic rendering? I don't know what is out there, but I'd love to find one that has some of the more commonly collected muscle cars and a user could change rims, colors, graphics etc. I've got little to no skill when it comes to drawing, but I'd love to be able to mess around with my cars digitally and print out a basic plan.

Help anyone?

H.

Wonderful this thread popped back up, i actually have been trying to use paint and a program called GIMP but neither come out looking right at all.

I've wanted to now for a while do a fairly simple paintjob on my chevelle as a temporary thing, after so many fails I was gonna wing it, but if someone can point in the direction of a program that'd be great.
