RixLS6 Jan 26th, 10, 8:40 AM Yep, saw that last night. I have sent him a few questions to help verify if it's a real one.
RR68ragtop Jan 26th, 10, 12:12 PM Looks like a nice car--What do you 300 experts think? KAS car and It does have the L on the trim tag.
Keith Tedford Jan 26th, 10, 12:30 PM Is anyone making the 300 Deluxe seat skins and door panels for these cars yet? Looks like worth taking a look at. Can't build much for $25K. The "L" seems to be a reasonably good indicator but no one is sure on that yet. Our Baltimore built 300 Deluxe SS has the "L" for better or worse.
Don_Lightfoot Jan 26th, 10, 2:03 PM I would say the 300 Deluxe "Purist" would stay away from this one, at least for the price quoted. As mentioned - door panels and seat covers are custom items. No rubber flooring as well. It does have the side window moldings which are worth a fortune.
That overall intake and air filter assembly sure sits high. Don't know if it would be hitting the hood or not.
Not sure, but the steering wheel shroud could be from a 70.
My main concern is what might be lingering under that heavy Black paint on the underside
It appears to be a sharp looking car and could be a lot of fun just the way it sits.
A shame they didn't paint it the correct red.
69 Post Sedan Jan 26th, 10, 7:54 PM Definitely worth looking at but I agree with Don that I am a little leery of the bottom of the car. It sure looks like the rearend is pitted...bad!
One question...isn't there supposed to be a "X" before the "L" since it is a 300 Deluxe? That's how mine and a lot of others are.
Also, two many horns! :D

I would like to know the same,I gave up trying to find good original stuff... Someday :(
69 Post Sedan Jan 26th, 10, 10:04 PM Dan Vasic (L78Post) knows who has the correct seat covers. He had mine done just before I bought it from him.

I agree 100%
SMS Auto Fabric can make the door panels and supply seat uph material for the '69 300 Deluxes. They aren't cheap and take awhile though.
Keith Tedford Jan 27th, 10, 10:22 AM Our car probably doesn't have the"X" because it is a hardtop.

I have looked a several of the cowl tags on the `69 300 Deluxe SS cars. I'm fairly confident that the KC built cars WITH the "X" on the tag DIDN'T get chrome window frame moldings, while the cars WITHOUT the "X" DID have the window frame moldings.
This is just a personal observation on cars that showed a relationship to the X's and L's that were 300 Deluxe SS cars.

Same here. L but no X.
