: How to check a booster??

Hi all, here is my dilemma...after contemplating for months, I decided to use the OEM disc set up that was in the trunk of my car when I bought it. It will be cheaper this way than buying the full conversion, just won't get the shiney new dust shields/brackets...

My question is if there is a way to determine that my booster is good or bad without having it installed? I'd like to figure this out prior to bolting it in if possible...

Thanks!!

With the check valve in place you can attach a hose and pull a vacuum from a source or a running engine. Once the hose is disconnected the vacuum should hold (if the check valve is good). This can be done off the car.

Thank you...Sounds good! A friend of mine has a vacuum pump so I think I'm going to use that instead of plumbing off the manifold.

Just so I got this right, it should hold vacuum until I remove the check valve. It should not bleed down at all...no hissing or anything, correct?
