Just behind the power brake booster, mounted to the firewall, I have 3 holes in a elongated triangle. I believe that the attached image is the relay that was removed a couple of years ago when I started this rebuild. Any idea what this relay is for? I have attached photos for ref.

You sure your car is a 70? Everything on the firewall looks like a 72.

Also, there is no water valve for the heater, which is the way the 1972 models were built. Earlier cars got the water valve.

Titled 70. Do not have the car here now but am sure that the cowl tag decoded as a 70 Balt car as well. It is an A/C car. The dash is not believed to be the original dash.

INteresting. Thats' definately a 72-73 relay. Take your heater box off the firewall and see if there's a partial VIN under the opening for the blower motor.

First, I know next to nothing about 70-72's, so I'm just asking!

Is the rear body pan (behind the rear bumper) different on a 71-72 versus a 70 ? Looks like a lot of room in there at the corners of the trunk opening (where the inboard taillight housings would be on a 71-72).
