Recently bought a 67 chevelle - some parking brake cable parts are missing - front cable (which is still there) is not connected to back of foot pedal under dash and is about 1-1/2" short of connection. I've sprayed the cable with WD40 under dash and underfloor as much as I can see. (It doesn't move - it's stuck) The rest of the cable seems to be between the body and the front wheel well cover. Any suggestions on how to loosen it up? Do I have to take the wheel well cover off?

I replaced all the cables and connectors on mine and I suggest you just replace yours, it's not worth the hassle to free it up. Yes, I had to remove the drivers side inner fender to get the front cable assembly out. All three cables (forward, intermediate and rear x2)can be bought at a local napa store. The hardest part is getting the forward cable out. But if your going to replace it, just use a pair of dikes and just cut the fingers off the cable that hold it to the floor.
