Currently building a 68 rag with a 355. The motor is equiped with a milidon stock replacement oil pan and the motor is equiped with energy suspension motor mounts. The center link it seems is extremely close to touching the bottom of the oil pan, about 1/8 of an inch. This doesn't seem right,or is it? Has anyone else had this problem and if so what solution did they come up with? There is about 3/4 of an inch between the crank journal and the bottom of the oil pan where the center link crosses so I could put a relief in it. (I have another small block on a stand in the garage.)

Did you take into consideration engine movement while under load? How close should this center link be? Does the fact that I am using a 700r4 tranny factor in, that being the tranny mount is in a different place? Is anyone out there running this tranny with the same problem? Thanks in advance, pston.

During engine movement the center link clearence to engine should not change much if at all. The engine in forward gears tends to lift the l/s up, and the r/s in reverse gears. At no point should the engine be dropping further into the cradle. My center link to oil pan clearence is about 1/4" static. I am running a Tremec which has the engine tilted much further forward than any automatic ever woud. You should be fine.
