I like the 2" drop/12" rotor kit....949.00 is a little spendy. I think True Connections sells the same kit for just under 700.00.

yeah that is a bit much $ for that. I just did that conversion with Pontiac station wagon spindles and 12" rotors on my 69, with Global West tubular uppers for 489 bucks for everything. You can get away with your old power booster, and prop valve.

The True Connections kit is $890 for the same thing.
Is there a difference between the two?
Also, I have manual drums now, so I need everything- I have no booster or prop. valve.
Thanks for the input guys- keep it comin'!
Sorry for the double post- computer trouble.

Or what is the best complete disc conversion kit with 2" drop spindles and 12" rotors?

Anyone?
Maybe I should re-word it: what is your suggestion for a drop spindle conversion kit w/ 12" rotors?
What experience have you had with them?

900, ouch. Thats spendy.

Im not sure where to find it cheaper but try searching some of the online catalogs. You might have better luck shopping around on the web.

Chris.

DANG THOSE PRICES ARE OFF THE CHARTS! No wonder I'm a cheap junkyard dog.

Cruz,
First off, can you tell us what your vehicle is going to be used for? Daily driver? Weekend warrier (auto-x, etc.)? Drag strip terror?

Give us some clues!

Second, I'm curious as to how much you are willing to do yourself? It looks like you are wanting a bolt on kit. Or are you willing to put some time and effort into a system that you can run down to the store and buy replacement parts?

I'm assuming you are just wanting to make your vehicle more safe to drive in stop & go traffic. More of a daily driver, I'm guessing.

If that's the case, why not a stock setup?

If you are wanting to plus size your brakes then by all means either look at the pluses/minues of the tall spindle swap or go ahead and slap the dough down for the 12" kit from the link above.

Are you sure you've looked at other places for kits?

A while ago, I priced out 2" drop tall-spindles (for a 95 impala SS) which was about $250 just for the spindles. I don't recall who made them though...

Yeah, I considered the 2" drop/12" rotor setup when doing the drop spindle conversion on my '70 recently. I just couldn't justify the additional costs involved. What really convinced me was I picked up a complete 2nd gen Camaro brake/spindle setup for $100.
Already had purchased the Global West control arms and the car was an original disc brake car. Made the conversion easy.

Thanks for all of the advice. Sorry I was a little vague on the details.
The car won't see track time. I am more interested in carving corners, as well as safety.
I have no problem putting work in myself. This has never been an issue- I just don't want any major surprises.
I'll keep looking on the web today.
Thx Again everyone!!!
