Anyone have experience with them? Are they good?

I bought one and was pleasantly surprised, it fit very well. The only problem ( which I was aware of before I bought one ) is that the mounting holes that your gauge cluster is screwed into are too small. You will need to test fit a screw by a couple of turns, which will confirm they're too small. Then , just using an appropriate sized tap, turn the holes out a little bigger. Takes 10 minutes.

Are we talking about the plastic gage cluster unit or the steel dash part?

The plastic carrier that holds the instrument cluster.

Is anyone reproducing the steel part of the dash?

Nope. Someone should though. There'd be alot of grateful owners, I'm sure

Actually Ground Up has it listed in their Vol 9A catalog (noted as a new item) for both '68 and '69's. They are both listed for $319.00.

I checked Ground Up and they show the steel dash section for a '68 with air con. and it needs work to be a regular non-air dash.
