There is bolt (threaded end) sticking through the floorboard right in between the drivers seat and where the silver 'Body by Fisher' trim piece goes. It's about 6-8 inches forward of where the driver's seat belt bolt hole is. The metal around it is flared up like it has pushed through. It looks like it is one of the body bolts pushing through??
The body bolts & bushings were replaced around 10 yrs ago when I had it's first paint job done. Is there not supposed to be a body bolt in this location? just a cushion?
I can get a picture if need be.
Thanks

My Elky has a bolt there. This particular bolt is shorter than the rest of the body bolts.
There is a 'peak' stamped in the floor for bolt clearance.
If your bolt is poking thru the sheetmetal---the bolt is too long.
I thought that the cushion position on the cars without all the bushings, was the poition in front of the rear wheels.

That sounds like what may have happened. I didn't do enough research prior to handing over the bolt & bushing kit to the shop that painted it.
Do the factory manuals show the correct placement for the bushings & bolts so I can double check them all? If so, does it give any information on bolt length, etc?

Did a little digging and answered my own question on the factory manuals. I found 2 different diagrams in the factory assembly manual. One 'revised' and one 'unrevised'. The prior showed 5 bolts and 2 cushions per side. The latter showed 4 bolts and 3 cushions per side, one of these cushions being in the location I'm referring to.
Checked mine out and it has 4 bolts and 3 cushions per side, but the #3 cushion and the #4 bolt are reversed. The passenger side is the same, but the 'peak' in the floor is not pushed up as on the driver side. So maybe a different length bolt or the car isn't level?
Does anyone which diagram in the manual was the one actually used for assembly? and why the difference?
Thanks

I have a 71 Monte which has bolted mounts in that position and it has that piercing bolt from the factory. Car is family owned since ordered and has never been apart.

Thanks for your reply. That may be the case here as well. I didn't have the carpet out when they were replaced so I never took notice of it then.
