Are the quadrajet carbs date coded ?I have an opportunity to buy one yet it doesnt have the choke pull off.Can I still get them today for this carb?Thanks,Brian
How do you decode the date codes if they are dated?
The carb I am looking at is a #7028210.My car is a 68 ss 396,build date 11b

I'm no expert but since no one has responded to your thread I'll offer what I can. The model number that you list was used on '68 396 and 427 engines so at least you have the right year. I'm not sure if it is for automatic or manual transmission.
The date code will be stamped below the model number that is stamped into the driver side of the body directly below the secondaries. That code will tell you if the carb is the right match for your production date. Post the date code and I'm sure someone will be able to decipher it for you.
