The lifters on my LS6 are very loose & was considering taking a stab at setting them myself. Any thoughts - I am a descent shadetree mechanic . Any pitfalls to be on lookout for ? It's the car in pic not one of the new fangled ones. Thanks lorne

If you're a decent shadetree mechanic, it's easy. Find a tutorial on the internet (check cam companies) for step by step instructions.

Good luck,

One trick I do is since it is hard to set them all when it is hot (best when hot), I get the engine hot, set the first cylinder to the correct lash and then let it cool off, usually overnight. Then I come back and measure the lash on that cylinder and then set them all cold to that lash. Has worked great for me for a few years now.

I've never tried doing it that way. Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup:
