On the springs- ask me again tomorrow. :D
I'm putting the Hotchkis 1" drop springs in the front of my 70 SBC elky tomorrow, so I should have an opinion by then. smile.gif
My car currently has stock springs that have been cut up front- and it sits WAAAY too low- I am hoping these will bring the front back UP about 1"- Or if they do keep it this low, I hope they will keep it from bottoming out on corners and dips.
I have brand new stock springs in back, with air bags inside them to give extra support for cornering and loads.
I have BMR Fabrications Upper and lower tubular rear control arms & their 1" rear sway bar. The quality on the control arms & swaybar was awesome- and much cheaper than Hotchkis stuff.
I would still like to get either the hotchkis or edelbrock control arm support bar though...
Email me tomorrow night if i forget to post back with the results of the spring swap- and i'll get some pics up here.

Before (stock springs, 1 coil cut off) (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/AHSOM70/oldsprings-1.jpg)
After (Hotchkis 1" Drop springs) (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/AHSOM70/newsprings-1.jpg)
Its definietly about 1" higher now than it was- Which is exactly where i wanted it. However i do know that they will settle another .5" -1" over the next month of driving.
I drove it 70 miles home last night after putting these on- and it hasn't dropped any... I will take some measurements (fender to the ground) tomorrow, then do it again in a month and see if it settles anymore.
I'm pretty happy with it- but if you are looking to drastically drop the car- it might not be enough of a drop- you might look at the 2" drop springs.
Anyway- Thats my report!

The springs AWSOM70 put in have a higher pound rating per inch of compression which will help tremendously in preventing tire contact issues. I think the wheel well looks more than an inch higher than before. Too bad we didn't think to ACTUALLY measure the height.... DOH.....
