I decided to get 2 1/2 inch lift coils from jc and now i'm confused on how to install them. If i could just get them to compress 2in. i could get them on! Any suggestions? (I don't have a spring compressor but i could probably get one if i needed. Thanks!

They are for the rear and i just went to auto zone and their spring compressors won't fit

You don't need a spring compressor for the rear. I assume you have the car supported from the frame by jackstandsand and the rear is hanging correct? It might be easier if you have an extra set of hands to get them in. Just pry down one side of the rear end at a time and slip the springs in. The first spring will be easier than the next. Not much more to it than that.

i already had it so the drivers side brake drum was againtst the top of the wheel well and they still didn't go in! I think i'm going to have to take the control arms (traction bars) off to get the rear end low enough.

Those must be some pretty stout springs  The traction bars probably aren't making it any easier either

Holy cr@p!!! The springs you are trying to install will not fit wth the shock disconnected and the rear diff twited so the opposite end is in the well? Are you trying to build a 4X4 truck???

Thats what I'm saying...must be tall ass springs.

I have about 3 in tall spacers underneath my Hotchkis springs and they were still easy to get in.

I can remember putting rear springs from a fullsize Buick Wagon in the back of a Chevelle and didn't have any problems getting them in.
