: brake fluid not moving

I just changed all my lines, combo valve, MC, and added power, I started to bleed tonight and the fluid level is not going down in the MC? does the fluid move immediatly once you pump the brakes? i also noticed after bench bleed, the front well leaks without any lines attached, but the rear well does not? any reason for that. When i connected the front, the fluid moved down the lines, nothing happened in the rear. does it need to be pumped many times to move fluid through the combo valve out to the cylinders and see a decreased level? i read somewhere that you may have to hold down a pin... in order to move fluid to the rear, i have the brass plated combo valve and all i see is a pin like struct aure at the top surrounded by a plastic nut, i think that is a brake warning signal?
any clarification will help

Just spent the better part of the weekend with the same problem on my 70 SS. I have new brake lines, a rebuilt master cylinder, new rear wheel cylinders...in other words, everything is new or rebuilt since I'm in the final stages of my frame-off resto. Brake fluid moved fine to the front lines but no amount of pumping the brake pedal would move the fluid to the rear lines. I finally got so frustrated that I disconnected the rear brake line at a couple of the connection points in sequence along the rear brake line and hooked up my Mityvac hand held vacuum pump to "persuade" the fluid to make it's trip to the rear cylinders. The fluid flowed fine after that and the pedal is rock hard. There might be a simpler solution but that one worked for me.
