I am up grading from 14" to 15"
and the tires will not fit into the wheel well
( I am talking about the back the front fit)
so I went to auto zone and bought air shocks..
anybody like or dislike them.I dont care about how it rides...
My Chevelle is an odd ball...
a 1969 chevelle 300 deluxe 4 door with a 307
I bought it for $450...Its in really good shape
It just needs some new plastic interior panels.......

Matt,
In all honesty, air shocks are generally used as a temporary fix on some suspension problems you may be having (though they do have their place in certain situations). I'm guessing you just need (could get by with) new springs.

A lot of guys on here run the TRW/Moog CC501 (I do believe that is the right part number). Their pretty cheap compared to some of the aftermarket springs out there.

If you've never changed out rear springs its pretty easy and we can guide you through it.

Why not go with some air springs instead? They go inside the stock rear coil springs- Stiffen up the ride, raise it a little- but don't ride like crap like air shocks do...

take a look at these guys:
www.airliftcompany.com (http://www.airliftcompany.com) the airlift 1000 is what you want.

I have a set in my 70 elky right now and i love em.

I went to the site and I hate it when places dont tell you the price...
I am upgrading from 14 to 15 wheels
the 15 are a little wider than the tire that were on there.the air shocks will raise the rear end about 2" to 3" from the top of tire..
I hope

Jegs and Summit sell airlift air springs- about $70

Looks up the PN for your year car on air lifts website, then punch it into the PN field on Summit Or Jegs site.
