I am finally getting around to putting an interior in my car, but I have a few questions on the carpet. How much carpet should there be under the sill plates? Should there be enough so the screws go through carpet or less?

i left enough under the sills to screw through, i thought it would hold it better. i did use a punch in the holes so i would un-wind the carpet when i screwed it down. also one of the guys sugested using a steamer to help stretch the rug, it worked really well.
