Hey guys I found a company selling manual 12:1`steering boxes for 63-68 corvettes. The summit part number for these boxes is FLA-FR1513-36.

Does anyone know if these boxes will mount into an A-body frame and attach to the steering shaft of a 64 chevelle?

I don't think they will work.

Summit lists the FLA-FR1513-36 as a 12:1 box,

But Flaming River (the manufacturer) BOLDLY notes that they are 16:1 on their website...

http://www.flaming-river.com/box5.htm

I thought the Vette boxes are alot different than Chevelle boxes. I also thought the Vettes were rear-steer, but I can't remember...

Further, Flaming River also offers manual boxes for Chevelles, etc...

Part # FR 1495-2 is listed for a 64-66 Chevelle manual box (per Falming River's site)... Summit #FLA-FR1495-2, $495.

Summit also lists this as a 12:1 box, but Flaming River doesn't state what ratio...

I would contact Flaming River and ask what the ratios are...
