i just found out that one of the rotors on my car is a 2 piece rotor. why is it 2 piece? is it worth anything? is it rare? should i swap it out for a one piece? any info appreciated.

I know GM went to the 1 piece in 69 either safety or it was cheaper. I bet it was cheaper. If you are worried about it, pull it off and get a 1 piece.

There are some guys who "want" that stuff.

i'm not worried about it at all. i just never had one and was wondering why i have not seen one befor. i guess you cant buy replacemet rotors for the 2 piece rotors without getting the one piece rotors. it would be neat if you could reuse the hub part and just get the rotor part of the 2 piece rotor.

The Mustang I did had a 2pc. rotor. They were a pain in the neck to disassemble once they got a lot of years on them.

If they're in good condition, they're worth a bit to the resto guys. I got 2 of them off a '70 monte, but they were too thin to use.
