If you go on ebay search Chevelle put price highest first , 13 out of the first 15 cars are 1970. Then other 2 that made the top are 65 + 69 and of those two there are no bids yet. Maybe I should stop the restoration on my 71 Chevette and look for a 70 Chevelle

don't plan on restoring a car- any car- and making money on it. unless it's some super duper rarity with tons of supporting documentation, you won't make any money on it.
build what you like, enjoy it, and expect to lose $$$ when it comes time to sell it.
with very few exceptions, this is how this hobby works.

and i didn't even know the Chevette was available in '71- i thought those came out in '77 or so. and i don't know that anyone has ever restored one of those...

Several years ago at a local cruise night I took second place in the show and shine.

The write up in the paper called mine a 68 chevette.

It took a long time to live that one down.

True, unless you can do EVERYTHING yourself. Even then, you have to have the right car.

Who cares what other people say? Build the car you want.

i would say yes. reason is the 70 had the highest horsepower car ever. so these cars can be cloned to look like the the monster 70 chevelle. also personally i think they have the nicest look. if anyone has any proof of this i would love to see it.

70 had the 454 that had more power than that year vette..ONLY year that happened,(on paper anyways)
also the 70 look downright mean with a set of rims..
the 71 ans 72 are the same car.. with less power. and unless it's an 70ls6. I don't see it... but one car pulls all the others up..
the 66-67 with the right wheel/tire package looks the best(I think)
I have a 71 and a 70.. and have come to the thought. that if I want to use it before i'm 50.. i'll just have to bolt it together and forget showcar .. and just make a fast as hell, driver..
if you'll only be happy with a 70 over the 71 chevette(opps ;) ) then it's your choice.. but they the 70 and 71/72 cars are basicly the same car...
but if you can't get over the single headlights................of your 71..
I'm building a hybred... 71/72 tail lights with the 70 nose..why.. because I can..well that and I needed new fenders and I have a 70 parts car..
good luck...
in the end , a 70 might be worth more.. but if the owner never really enjoyed it.. who cares and ..I'd rather be the guy that doesn't have the most $$$$$$$$ car ,but the guy that enjoyed the one I had..
