hard to say with out seeing it in person. is the bushing loose? when you tighten it down those teeth should bite in and keep things from turning. however if you want to replace the bushings yes they need to pe pressed out and yes you can do it in your garage. people here have many methods to do this, i just bouht the bushin press kit and do them myself. but if you know a shop that can do it it might be worth it to you. that thing with the teeth will come with the new bushings, it is the inner collar. but if you bushing doesnot look to bad, tighten it up and you probably are fine.

I am just doing my suspension and bought shaft kits for both sides the kits come with bushings rubber ones (moog)but i was doing poly all the way round. If they seem loose at all I would think it would save a lot if you replaced them. I found that a torch hammer and a punch took care of removing the bushings little work but if you want to save some cash not too bad I would get them pressed in though I tried to reinstall them myself but I was worried about chiping or smashing them up. Hope my 2 cents helped

i think the thing that you are seeing with the teeth on it is the inner coller of the bushing. they need to be removed from you shafts. is the a seam down the side of them? hit it with a screw driver and hammer to spread it apart untill you can get them off. i dont think the shafts themselves have any toothed areas on them.

thanks fdyfo it seems you always come thru for me i know the inner collar has the teeth on it but the shaft had me concern but now that i really look at it i dont think so anyway took them to a speed shop to have them do it upper and lower 40 bucks i guess that better than having a fit . storm.
