Currently, my El Camino has Hotchkis 1" coils at all 4-corners, 2" disc brake spindles, Hotchkis rear suspension package, Air Lift helper setup, and KYB shock absorbers.

Basically, I want this car to handle like it's on rails. I'm going to install a PST polygraphite front-end rebuild kit, G-MAX anti-sway bar and new KYB shock absorbers.

What other shock absorber should I consider? Can I add a rear anti-sway bar w/o much trouble? What would be the best way to lower the vehicle another 2" in the rear? Any suggestions and/or recommendations before I start ordering parts? Thanks!

My 71 Elco used to chase motorcycles up Angles Crest and hang pretty good. I had stock springs, 1 coil collapsed in the front, '79 TA sway bar in the front and KYBs all around. Wheels and tires were 245/60-15 on 15x8 Rallys on the front and 305/50-15 on 15x10 Rallys on the rear. Rear wheels had 6" backspace and I had to move the bottom of the shock to clear the rim. Standard rubber bushings all around.

It rode and drove nicer than many new cars.

Didn't seem like there was much more I needed to do at the time. Maybe I was chasing the guys that couldn't ride :D

Koni makes adjustable shocks that allow you to tune the suspension dampening. A rear sway bar is very easy to install especially if you have aftermarket or boxed lower control arms. There are 4 bolts and it takes about an hour. 2 inch lowering springs can be bought from Hochkis and many other suppliers. Air bags inside the rear coils gives even more adjustment to tune the suspension. My Chevelle handles as good in normal driving as my 97 Z-28. The only thing that is lacking is a "faster" steering box for slalom type cornering as the "72 SS" fast ratio box just is not fast enough on the transition from hard left to hard right to keep up with the ability of the rest of the suspension upgrades.
