Hi,while restoring my car I noticed the drivers side front wheel was a half inch more forward than the passengers side. While the frame was off the car and stripped of all suspension parts I had it checked out on a frame machine, which I was told that the frame was straight and never hit. Is it possible the front lower control arm could be bent? Has anyone ever run into this problem before? I'm thinking of trying another control arm , it is a factory original arm with polygraphite bushings. Thanks Mark

Maybe two RH lower control arms on the car  ?? I doubt it as that would give you a really weird caster and I don't even think it would bolt up that way.

It's very possible for the arm to be bent. If at anytime someone bounced off a curb or nialed a giant pothole. Any number of things could have happened. One other thing I learned, and I don't know if it applies to Chevelles but on the G-body cars, there are different lower control arms for power steering and non-power steering. They give different caster to ease steering effort.

look at the frame right behind the control arm that sits back farther
make sure it is not kinked
this is a bad spot on the frame when wheel gets hit
also make sure control arms are the same by laying them back to back

how did you determin this? what were you measuring the wheel too? was it the fender or the frame? simple measuring checks for semetry should reveal the problem
