Well i started my Frame off restoration today and i got a couple of questions. First i looked threw so many catalogs over the last year awaiting this day when i got all my parts together to start. Which i thought i seen a company that sells a complete bolt kit for chevelles with every screw, nut, washer and bolt you will need for the whole car if so could you please tell me the name off the company. Next im going to do my Firewall in eastwood underhood black what is the best way after i sand down my firewall and fenders should i just apply it straight on or should i use a primer and then the paint. Thanks let me know if you know .

hi welcom aboard. i think ground up carries a bolt kit. try posting your body work question in the "body" forum for better responces. but a quick answer is, yes use primer.

After I removed most of the old paint with sanding and wirebrush, I sprayed with eastwood self-etching primer and topcoated with a few layers of underhood black. It turned out excellent.

National Parts Depot(NPD), has the kits and the fastest shipping that I have encountered. I just bought one from the Last week. Good Luck. I also got some advice here about my firewall. I am currently repairing the lower outer cowls.

Good luck

If you have all the correct fasteners and they are in good shape and just have some surface rust, you could reuse them by buying a tumbler and refinishing kit from Caswell plating (http://www.caswellplating.com/) . I have used a few fastener kits, and it seems like the appearance can be a bit different from the original sometimes. If you don't care about that, buy a kit. It's pretty convenient, just try to find one that's sorted and separately bagged and labeled. The last one I bought was an interior kit from Year One, and everything was sorted, but I have also used a front clip kit that wasn't. Had a helluva time figuring out where everything was supposed to go, as they didn't look exactly like the original fasteners. The finish was also questionable, some of them had surface rust after a few months. Unfortunately, I don't remember where it came from, but it was cheap
