: My Blower Motor is hitting fender. is this correct/Pictures?
Steven's 72 Jan 13th, 10, 7:04 PM Hey guys just like the title says, I put in the new AC delete plate, now I mount the Inner fender and in order to put in the bolts to hold the inner fender to the Firewall, the Blower motor is sitting on the fender, is this correct?, If not how do I fix? Scratched my new paint job LOL.

BlueSS454 Jan 13th, 10, 7:25 PM How far was the blower motor's fan from the edge of the outer box? Seems to me that aftermarket delete box you have is a bit too wide. The fan should be recessed about 1/4 - 1/2" or so.
Steven's 72 Jan 13th, 10, 7:49 PM Tom, Thanks I didn't even think about that, Just measured it and it's an inch longer, time for the mallet, put a small bend on the inner fender. Thanks for heads up!
windmill Jan 13th, 10, 8:20 PM I've got the delete box too,, hope mine fits right..... i need to see if it will work.
DZAUTO Jan 13th, 10, 9:57 PM It isn't going to matter, because once the outer fender is in place, the motor will be completely hidden.

That doesn't make it right. It will still vibrate against the metal inner liner and make noise.

The other problem is the holes on the bottom of the fender are not lining up with the bracket on the firewall for the bolts to mount the fender. I need to tweak the fender for clearance so I can slide it back enough for the bottom bolts.
67shovel Jan 14th, 10, 8:27 AM Looks like you have 1/4" of sealant on the fan motor flange. Maybe lose most of that for some room. Will the inner fender move out of the way when it's bolted up to the fender? If none of that works I'd dimple the inner wheel well as mentioned and forget about it.
Steven's 72 Jan 14th, 10, 9:58 AM Hey Roger, the sealant was placed on there after the Motor was bolted on, just going to dimple it and call it a day.
Chris R Jan 14th, 10, 8:41 PM The delete box looks like it mounts the blower too far out from the firewall rusulting in hitting the inner fender.
Steven's 72 Jan 14th, 10, 10:52 PM Fixed today, put a couples of blows with the hammer on the fender and it gave me enough room to fit.
Russtea2 Jan 15th, 10, 6:41 AM Pulll the cover, do some glass body work on it, and shorten the delete cover
