Some one really over did the red. IMO the interior looks bad done that way. Don't like the missing heater hoses. Looks like it probably needed a heater core and they cheaped out just removing the hoses. Don't like the red firewall. Don't like the stripes. Grille should be silver and makes the grille emblem look out of place to me. I think it is priced a bit high for today's market. I bet I would have a tough time selling my SS396 at that price. It looks pretty darn close to my first 68, an R2 Malibu.

Been "for sale" for awhile. Decent car except for the self-applied red piping and interior trim! YUCK!!!! What in the #@%$ was he thinking?? But, I do think it would be a good start to a nice and rare 2DR Concours. Would not mind adding another Concours to my stable!;)

So the red stripes on the door panels and the red "outlines" on the dash and steering wheel are not "correct"?

Also, it looks like it has power steering, but not power brakes?

How hard /expensive is a new heater core?

Thanks...

No, not at all correct. Or were you just joking? I just sold a new heater core on Ebay for $25. Can be a pain to get to it, but not a real "hard" job.

The interior looks like it belongs in the Batmobile...

P/S and no P/B is not that uncommon.
My old Malibu('68) had P/S and Manual(Non-Power) Drum Brakes.

Hey Bill, I would'nt give-up on this car if you are looking at buying a 2Dr Concours! These cars are rare and and don't come up for sale very often. I spent 6 years looking for my current Concours project. They are hard to find, and not all are in this fair condition. It has the more desireable 327, vinyl top, Buick interior, and bumper guards. Paint does'nt look too bad. Engine looks decent.

If you bought this car, you are looking at a new interior(door panels from Legendary Auto Interiors, dash panel & gauge cluster used on Ebay, knobs lenses & bezels are Repops) heater core and some brake work. Not alot of $$$ and not the end of the world! I would estimate around $1200. With this added expense, you are looking at $16,100. Thats without talking them down. Who knows in this economy, maybe they take $12,000?? Either way, I think it is a reasonable investment.

Again, WHY would someone ruin and interior like that??????????????

This car is custom for the most part.
May not be a bad deal if you're not concerned with originality. Might be able to get it for less too.

The Buick interior has nothing to do with it being a Concours.

"The Buick interior has nothing to do with it being a Concours". You are right to a certain extent. But ALL 1968 Chevelle Concours 2dr. Sport Coupes came from the factory with either Buick or Oldsmobile deluxe interiors. I have never seen a documented original Concours with the standard Chevelle interior.

My first thought too. Aren't all Holley Street Avenger carbs vacuum secondary? I believe they're dual feed but not double pumpers. Double-hump heads, eh? My 67 327/275 has double-hump heads, no big deal there. 375hp cam in a Powerglide street car? Seems like an odd choice.

We all love Chevelle`s here. 68`s are really nice, but this one...man it`s just kinda wierd I don`t know... just not a good looking car....I can see why it`s been for-sale a while...
