yes
direct bolt on.
Ball joint to ball joint
You will need the flexible line brackets from a 69-72 GM A-body with disc brakes. They are left and right. You'll also need new flexible brake lines. (the ones that run from the frame bracket to the caliper). The Nova brackets and flexible line will not work. And it's a good idea to replace the lines anyway. You'll also need to change out your Proportioning valve. Get one from a 71-72 Chevelle or other GM A-body. I think it's the same one you'd find on most GM cars from 1971 to at least 1977.

there is tons of info on drum-disc swaps on this site if you do a search.
Here, I did it for you.

And here's the brackets you'll need.

Yours look similar, but not the same.

Keep in mind, buying a NEW kit can sometimes make more sense by the time you replace all the old stuff from the donor kit....Not to mention having a lifetime warranty...You only have to buy the parts ONE TIME!

good sales plug !

new bearings and seals would be a good idea.
Other than that, there's nothing wrong with a used setup off a donor car.
Typically, none of the hard part fail. I have seen one bad spindle in prob 20 disc brake setups. The backing plates and caliper brackets don't fail. Yes, they can show some wear where the calipers ride, but this is usually not a problem. If the caliper bracket threads aren't stripped out, then they are good.
Rotors can be too thin. You'll want to measure them and most likely have them turned (cut).
Original calipers can be rebuilt. The kits are cheap. And they are easy to do.

Every aspect of a used disc brake setup should be inspected before installation. If you don't have experience in this area, have a certified brake tech look everything over well.

I'm just not a big fan of this mentality of buy buy buy, just get a new one. We are the most wasteful country in the world and it's not good. There have been millions of good useable parts that have been melted down because people don't have the knowledge to repair or refurbish. We need to stop buying new when we have what we need right in front of us !

Its all based on customer experience....A lot of guys don't have the know how to inspect the parts to make sure its all safe....Nor the time to mess around with getting rotors turned, standing in line at the auto parts store waiting for the kid to lookup your parts while he asks if your chevelle is a 4wd, what size motor, ect....Plus you need to know the correct year to ask for ect....This is our theory on why buying new is better, and YES I like to sell parts, its how I get paid!

Useable donor parts for Chevelles or anything of that vintage from salvage are a bit rare from my last couple years experience, so I find the kit approach the best in most cases. Having done the caliper and m/c rebuild approach in the past, with several leaky results, I usually do spring for at least parts store reman brake stuff. But if you have useable stuff by all means use it.

However, thanks for defending my stash of six Mustangs and two Turbo Coupes from my wife's silly demands that they are junk and I should not be saving them.... Thought cash for clunkers was stupid too.

does anybody know if you can use the 78-87 G body spindles on our A bodies, I know you can use first gen F body spindles and 2nd gen F body spindles or B body spindles but they require an aftermarket control arm to accommodate the different ball joints and taller spindle. Any help would be appreciated.
