I recently bought two sets of front shocks. The correct part for my '67 Chevelle was hard to find, so I special ordered a set that I had to pay for in advance. They were supposed to be a top quality shock, but instead they sent a cheap set of light weight shocks.
I have a set of much better shocks (lifetime warranty) that I bought for my '65 Impala. They aren't installed yet either.
Since I hope to drive the Chevelle more than the Impala, I'd like to have the better shocks on the Chevelle.
The body of the Chevelle shock is about one-half longer than the Impala shock. The piston also extends about one-half inch more on the Chevelle shock.
Since the mounting system looks identical, I can't imagine why I can't put the Impala shocks on the Chevelle and vice versa. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there any reason why I should not do this?
